New Zealand Women In WW1

Last week we were working on what they women did in WW1 and how they got into that situation.So when WW1 started everything crashed like people were scared and wanted to run away but they couldn't because it war against all county in the world. The reason why they had to work because to feed families and other people.

Pet cost

Yesterday we were working on if we could afford a pet and had to put it on the slides. So we got into group of two and my buddy was Jhonas and we worked on this to get it finish. After that we went on how much of the cost their is to buy that animal. We made seven slides because their were seven animals that we had to do in order to finish this and show the teacher so she can see . We discussed some ways to meet animal need and want without spending much money.

So Today we were listen to the teacher Explaining what we are going to do for today's project  were are going to be doing a egg challenge. So she telling us and it was getting interesting and interesting and the more we wanted to do we straight to it. first of all we had to get to groups of three or four and move on to get the stuff were need to protect the egg from breaking when we drop it. My group members were Riansha and Harmony and they are my friends from the beginning of this year. So while we were collecting all things we needed the stuff we needed were a long thick sponge, cardboard box, tape , and paper to make it not break. were finished making our protection for our project and then finished it and had to go to high ground to drop it. we went to where the teacher would go to relax but I think they do not use those spaces anymore so were used it for our place to go and drop our projects we made. we dropped our projects down and started to unwrap what we made and we were so scared that it cracked but it didn't we took some photos of us taking it out not together. 

DLO ABOUT WW1

 Monday we started working on World War 1 and we started talking about our family member being in the World War 1. I tried to think if any of my mums, dads, dads in the war but still no answer of her telling me. So we moved on from that to looking at slides with work we to be done. So after we looked at the slides we watched a video going together with the question that we need to get done that day we got heaps of answers. After the video finished we wrote all the answer we heard from that video and put it on the broad. We went onto the slides and finished the slides after school with the teacher because I never finished that work that needed to be done by that time.

100 Word Challenge

I had a dream of someone who was in the stars meditating and I saw other things like it was memories of someone. I tried to look closer but I just disappeared fast before I could even look with my eyes. I woke up and tried to figure out who that was in my dream but I forgot about it when I went to school. I came back from school tired and went back to sleep again had the same dream but I could see the face. I looked and I was shocked and woke up screaming as loud as I can and then I saw my mom and went and hugged her about it and she said it's alright. TOO BE CONTINUED

Needs and Wants

Last week were working on what we need and what we want. for that, we watched a video about twin brothers that really wanted to ride bikes to school. They started saving up money but one of the twin brother Alex uses his money to buy a chocolate bar and a soda and his other brother didn't his until he had enough money to a buy a bike his other brother was sad because he used all his on buying a chocolate bar soda. So we had to write what we want and need on a doc or on slides to show what we need and what we want.

Non-violent Protest

In those 1800,s people from the Taranaki mount, The Parihaka people were so far happy back then but then all those had to come to an end. When the Europeans arrived in New Zealand the Waitangi happened when they had to sign this contract. Literally, all the leader's signed this contract and they thought it was for their own good but then when the people wrote the translation in Maori it wasn't the same as the English version. Then the European people started to take away people's homes and villages. When they tried to take the Parihaka land away from them they didn't say anything. when the soldiers came to take their land they were quite and they were non-violent when they came. when the soldiers came they saw kids playing the girl doing the haka. The soldiers just walked past and thought to get to the leaders to talk this out. They said if they didn't give the land in 14 days they be arrested.

School Logo

So yesterday I have been working on making a school logo and adding what I think the school has teached me for the past two years at this school. This school has teached me a lot of things and they helped a lot with my work and even made me happy when I was sad and always crying if I felt like I was left out. The teacher were the best like they would teach us things that we would interested in we would do it with all our hearts just to make our teacher proud happy for us that we finished that work. So I made this with all my heart and because I am proud to be at school and me also proud of how our school changed from last year.

Hello everyone today we have been learning how to make signals with flags and testing it on people to see what they think the word is. So my word was a snake which is one of the words I hate hearing when people say it because I hate snakes so that is why we picked that word and tried it on the teacher and he got it right. We did one on one of our classmates and they were trying but they got wrong. well learning them we got to know how to make signals signs to people if we work at the airport for making signals for the pilot 

Living a Healthy Lifestyle is a choice

So living a Healthy lifestyle is a choice and it is up to you if you either eat junk food or eat your fruits and vegs. So there are lots of choices we can pick to make us look good and some that we pick choices that just make us look bad and horrible.

What things can we not control?

You cannot control mental health people psychopaths,  and people with a phobia. We can't control their health and what goes on inside the head and what going through your blood.

What are the things we can control? We can our skincare the dirtiness of your space that you are living in. We can control how much sugar we eat and how much sodium we eat too to keep us healthy.

How we can make our lifestyles better is loving yourself and always making sure to shower and always put on deodorant on when you are going to P.E and making sure moisturizing your face and body parts so they won't be dry.

Strayteller

1.  Today we were reading a book called Strayteller and it about this girl talking about her time staying with five other people staying at this station in the Utah desert for two weeks.   

2. That there was a lot to find out and a lot to learn during the time they were staying that short period of time. Finding this out is one of the main reasons the Mars desert Research station was established 

3. So they would know what to do if something happens to them would what to do if they need to survive if there is a hole in the walls. So they know what to do for food. 

The Invasion of Parihaka

1. What was the impact on Māori when of the New Zealand Company and other representatives of "The Crown" confiscated or purchased land very cheaply from Māori? What happened to Māori who lost their land? So when the Crown brought the Parihaka's land very cheaply the pairhaka didn't want to give away their land but when the soldiers came they people were just calm not doing anything and the kids play and the girls doing the haka.

The only way of solving a major problem would be just staying clam where you are and try to avoid any fight or war from anyone how wants to fight.

Martin Luther King because he was standing up for his people because some white people were hurt his people so he stood up for them so they won't get hurt anymore. Gandhi stood for his country's right didn't want any other country to put them under them and because he was a lawyer he had right.

Explanation Writing

So Two weeks ago we were learning rover launch and what is the rover going to do if it going to Mars. So we wrote it all on our plan in our books and had to turn them into paragraphs on our blogs. We learned a lot from those videos and helped me a lot with but I didn't finish this on time it was meant to finish. 

So there was a rover launching to Mars about some weeks ago. It was launching on the 30th of July and it was going to Mars to build a base there. So where they were going to build the base somewhere this lake used to be but then maybe the water disappeared after a few years ago. So on the red planet, there is a lot of mounts and it is far from and a takes about 21-23 months. If someone is in the rover they might need food that will last that 21-23 months on that trip to Mars. The reason may be why they are building the base in that lake is because of some clues found in that lake I think.

Mean, Median, Mode

Hello, fellow people today our class has been learning Mean, Median, and Mode for one week and a have I think. So Means's definition is when you are adding up numbers together to get that answer and then you divide that number to get the real answer. Medians' definition is when you put all the numbers from smallest to biggest and then you divide the middle numbers together to get your answer. If both sides are uneven then you take the middle number that is there and that is your answer. The mode is when there are two same in all the numbers in that line.

In The Shadow Of Taranaki.

Hi everyone yesterday we had watched a video of kids going to some kind of jail cell to see how they're ancestors living and what they did to survive in those days while they were still in the war. When they saw how they were living the felt bad for them and started to cry afterward when they got outside. We watched the second video of The Taranaki kids and this time they went to some kind of cemetery in Dunedin to see they're ancestors graves. After we finished watching them we had to write down some facts about what we saw in the video and we had to describe where they were and what they were doing.

Mount Taranaki is up in the North Island 

Kids went to these prison cells to see how it was like living there.

They felt emotional and one girl said she could feel some kind of spirit trying to reach out for her.

One of them could hear some crying sounds in the prison cell.

They cried when they saw how their ancestors were living these cells. 

They went to the cemetery in Dunedin to see their ancestor’s graves.

The felt bad for how they were living in these small places and how filthy place they were living in.

Questions:

What did the Europeans expect to find at Parihaka.

They thought that the Parihaka would fight back but they just greeted them the little kids.

What did they find instead?

Umm, they found kids having fun and laughing and being joyful. The kids greeted them in a good way of showing respect to them.

What was Martin Luther King and Gandhi protesting?

Martin Luther King was protesting the black people's lives and how he wanted to change that. The white people were being racist to them and using them as slaves. When women were given to the white they would be r*ped and harmed by them to do what they want. Gandhi was against the American rules and didn't want his country to suffer because of it.

What is a Star? Describe a Nebula.
Stars are something that shines in the sky above us and also forms from Nebula. A nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space when a star explodes it turns into Nebula.
How do Stars die?
It takes millions of years for it to die. So this is how it can die it when its fuel runs out then it turns into a red giant.... after puffing of it layers of the star collapses to form a very dense white dwarf.
Is there an up or down in space? 
In space there, No up or down in space. That can mess our heads and make us go crazy and can also affect the way people think in space.
How can Stars be used to Navigate? 
For people or sailor is a step from the dead reckoning.

200 word challenge

Today I will be performing in front of people at the auditions at school and I will be doing ballerina. So I have been practicing for a long time at my studio which is far but they teach me lots of actions. While dancing in the studio the music made me feel like I am in heaven and it felt like angels surrounding me. On that day I was going to perform I felt really scared To go on the stage. After a little bit, I had the courage to go on there cause someone inside me said to go up there and show them what you got. So when I got up there I saw my parents in the front row clapping telling me I can do this. When the music started I did the swan dance first and then I finished off with a smile at the end. I went off stage to see my parents standing and the changing rooms waiting for me. They give a huge hug and said you did your best and if you want to become a ballerina in the future you should be one. I was crying and said I will be one in the nearby future and I will show them how it feels like to be up on the stage.

Gold Mining History

Kia Ora everyone I have been working on Gold Mining History and I found out lots of facts about Gold Mining. When gold was discovered near the Tuapeka river in 1861 Thousand of people will go there to find gold. When they find gold they will go home and take their families to a better place to and buy them clothing and proper food to eat and all those sorts of stuff they need those days. Some people thought about themselves when they found gold. Chinese people came to New Zealand when they found out there was gold and when every they found the gold they would take back with to their country and use it for themselves. 

100 word challenge

So there were three friends that were setting up a table for them to drink that night so after they finish setting they went and brought some drinks. They brought the black horse and Coron. They took the drinks back home and left it on the table and they went and changed. They came back and started to drink and felt boring but they still dank and all of them got drunk. So the next morning On of their friends were GONE like really gone so they looked around and they search the forest next to her house and found her dead lying there. They were shocked and scared who would of done this so they call the police to come and investigate this case. So they went back to their family's and waited for an answer. After a few hours one of her friends were arrested for murder and they took it to the court and she had to stay in prison for 13 years.

Getting Enough Sleep

Kia Ora Today in Hurumanu 6 we are learning how much sleep do us young teenagers get per night and how we can change the way us teenagers sleep late at night.

1. How much sleep does a teenager need to get? 8 to 10 hours so we won't feel like sleeping again and so we can have enough energy to go to school.

2. What time do you wake up to get to school? I Think the proper timing for you to get up is 7:30 because so you have enough sleep ready for school.

3. What time do you go to sleep on average?8:30 Because so I won't wake again if I sleep earlier

4. Calculate the times, does this give you enough sleep? 12 Hours because I want to have enough sleep so when I am going to school I have energy to run and do all those fun stuff.

5. Quality of Sleep: List four ways you can help your body get a quality night’s sleep (Most of this happens before bedtime!) Sleeping regularly at 8:00 because I hate coming late to school everyday. Having somewhere comfortable to sleep. Noting having any music and any noise that distract you during sleeping time. Avoid eating food 1-2 hours going to bed.
   
   

6. In your own words, why do you think it is important to get a good sleep each night? How do you think this will help you at school? Because when coming to school you are not ready with all stuff you need for learning and you're not in the green zone. Getting good sleep can make you have a good mood that day and help you try finish that work task or any work that needs to be done if its over due.
